# Function count
Count the number of elements of a matrix, array or string.
## Syntax
```js
math.count(x)
```
### Parameters
Parameter | Type | Description

`x` | string &#124; Array &#124; Matrix | A matrix or string
### Returns

number | An integer with the elements in `x`.

## Examples
